A friend's mother passed away on Christmas. Shortly after, he made a video in honor of her. He used one of my songs for the background music. I was floored.
My songs have been used by others for various projects, sure. But this is the first time my music has been used for such a personal reason. Few honors can touch someone in the way this has touched me.
My goal has always been to make and share my music, not to make any money from it. All i've ever wanted was for my music to maybe help people enhance or enjoy their experiences a little more. Or just to find something in the music that touches them in some way. Or to listen simply because they like it. However, my insecure nature always stops me from believing that anyone actually likes anything i write.
However, after seeing the video and the poignant effect the music helped crate, i really can't see that song as a failure anymore. But again, i feel like i may be giving myself too much credit. Figures.
Anyway, i'm not posting the video as it's a very personal memorial meant for those who were there to support him and his mom during her illness. Also, this isn't meant to promote me or the song. This is just the thoughts of an insecure "artist" who was honored in a surprising and unexpected way.
That is all.

The White Faced Man wins the Audience Award at the Greater Lehigh Valley Film Festival
Congratulations to Luke Ramer!
I can only imagine how great that must be. I mean the film was JUST completed before being entered into the festival. So this was its FIRST festival showing. I'm pretty sure it's a sign of good things to come when you win an audience award right off the bat. A couple of my songs made it into the film, and i'm VERY grateful to Luke for using them.
Check him out on here where you can also get info on how to order the dvd:

Hopefully i'll be shooting a real video for this song later this summer. Till then, there's this goofy one i edited together from the movie The Beach Girls and the Monster.
